Annabelle the Haunted Doll

Warning: I am not responsible for anything negative or any attachments that may come to you from reading this post.

Before I get any further into this post, I wish to post a warning: This post is cursed. I have been working on this post for the past 5 months. In the time I have researched this doll, I have lost data related to this post at the most random times. I have written and then had this post completely deleted while working on other posts. I never deleted it, and yet it was gone, even though I am the only one with access to the computer where my posts are stored. I have had various malfunctions with my equipment when working on this post, such as my laptop shutting down while writing this post. That happened even though my laptop remained plugged in the whole time. My surface completely died, going from a fully charged battery to a completely dead one in a matter of 10 minutes while working on this post. My autosave feature, which is always on when I write posts, didn’t autosave. It was turned off even though I always have it enabled. Because of these continued mishaps, It has taken me months to write this post and complete all the research on this doll. So, I warn you that reading this may be hazardous to your health and your computer’s.

Welcome to my first of what will be a series of haunted object posts that I am writing for this blog. Why am I writing about haunted objects on a review blog you ask? Well, I’m glad that you asked that (with some prompting). It took me the better part of these last few months to decide what kind of series of posts I wanted to do in order to bring you more and better content that many may like to read. I had a few requests regarding what I thought of various movies. More movie reviews will be back this year. The haunted object series will be coming to you slowly and as I read and write more about haunted objects. Keep in mind that all my reviews and writings on this site take a fair amount of time to write and edit, which is why its been a while since my last post. So with no further delays, let me get into this discussion of Annabelle, the haunted Raggedy Ann Doll, and what makes it so haunted. I will discuss the path that Annabelle took to reside in the Warrens Occult Museum in Monroe, Connecticut at this time. Let me also suggest that you nor anyone else ever and I mean EVER come into contact with this haunted doll.

How much truth is there to the legends of the Annabelle Doll? Well Honestly it took me quite a bit of time to decode and read through all the interactions reported with this doll and to learn what has been confirmed to be true about it. There is a lot of information online about the doll, but most of it is fictionalized. There have been multiple movies based around the Annabelle doll, but most of the events that are depicted in those movies are heavily fictionalized. Thus, don’t believe everything that you see in the movies. There is however, some shred of truth behind a number of issues with Annabelle. Such as Annabelle being a real haunted doll. She isn’t to be messed with because those who have tempted their fate and taunted her have met their demise in several gruesome ways. I don’t wish to get into that here. What truths lie behind all of the myths that revolve around this supposed haunted doll? Well, the doll is believed to be possessed by an inhuman spirit seeking a human host. The evil spirit was invited to reside in the doll by a female nursing student believing that it wasn’t an evil spirit, but instead just a wayward spirit of a little girl looking for a family. Then the doll started moving around the house when no one was at home. That was the first clue something wasn’t quite right with this doll. The doll would be in one room when the nursing students left for the day, and when they came back they would find it in a completely different room. Before you think someone must have come in and moved the doll, think again. That someone would have to break into their house, move just the doll and nothing else and then leave without leaving a trace and with no key to their house/apartment. Such a person would have to know when no one would be home when they went in and would have to know doing this secretely would scare the bejesus out of the intended victim. There were also notes left around the house on parchment paper. Parchment paper isn’t easy to find. The notes would be written by what looked like a little girl.

The nursing students called a priest to witness the activity related around the doll. The catholic priest in turn contacted the Warrens, who have an immense knowledge of the paranormal field as witnessed by their work on the Amityville haunting. Loraine Warren claimed to see things and be a medium for the spirits during her long life here on earth. Loraine warned them about the doll. She said that something just wasn’t right about it, and that she could sense an evil presence within the doll. The Warrens took the doll home with them where it has resided for years in their occult museum behind glass in a case that says, “positively under NO circumstances open this case”. Yes, the doll is so haunted that it was locked in a glass box to keep people safe from it, not the doll safe from people. The glass box also isn’t ordinary glass. It is glass from a church that contains the dolls powers and spirits from escaping into our world. There were mysterious deaths surrounding the doll from those who dared to taunt it when it was locked inside the glass case. This has only added to the mystery surrounding the doll and its haunting.

When the Warrens wanted to move the doll from its original case to another case in their museum, they contacted 2 catholic priests to assist them with the move. One priest would bless the new case in order to help contain the doll and its powers, and the other priest would wear gloves when moving it from one case to another. This was because the doll is so haunted even letting it come into contact with your bear skin can cause you injury.

This isn’t my typical post, but I wanted to get the truth out there for everyone to read. I know this isn’t going to be for everyone, but at the same time read it or don’t, I don’t care, but will reiterate this post may very well result in you becoming haunted. I fear even I may suffer simply by writing about it. But please, don’t say I didn’t warn you ahead of time, so don’t blame me if you suffer after reading this post. I am not responsible for that.

Thank you for reading

Jason
